Beautiful Canterbury
This cathedral is spectacular ... It is of course where Thomas Becket was murdered ... apart from that the architecture is Norman and if you know me at all you will know that I am nuts about the Normans and their architecture. We took the guided tour but I wandered off and got talking to one of the clergy and we had a great discussion about which were the best Cathederals to see ... His view was that Ely and Rochester cathedral's had to be seen so we have decided to do a detour to take a look at them.
One King of England is buried here at Canterbury ... Henry IV (he deposed Richard II) and the Black Prince ( Richard II 's father) as well. Food was very average ...just pub food and if i ever see bacon and eggs again I think I will scream ... One good restaraunt though Beef Bourgignon was delicious. Off to Rochester and Colchester.

First Days
We have arrived safe and sound after our first Business class flight ... verdict is ...great to have large seats but a 24 hour flight is still 24 hours flight ...will be hard to go back to sandwich class.
We are staying at Canterbury in the lodge attached to the cathederal ..it is very nice. We are enjoying the cool weather ...10 degrees and light rain. We have wandered around the town and visited the Roman Museum and have uploaded a few photos in the album for you.
Off to a guided tour of the Cathederal this afternoon.
